About
An all-volunteer organization, built by parents.
The Anchored School PTO exists to support the learners, families, and educators of The Anchored School through service, encouragement, stewardship, and learner-facing programs and resources.
The mission of The Anchored School Parent Teacher Organization is to glorify God by strengthening the partnership between parents, teachers, and families through service, encouragement, and stewardship. We support our educators and help cultivate a biblical-centered community where students grow in faith, character, and learning.
What a PTO does here
The Anchored School is a private Christian school in Prosper, Texas, serving learners from 6 weeks through 8th grade and families across Dallas–Fort Worth. Every family is welcome. Learners are supported in small classes with an 8-to-1 learner-to-guide ratio and hands-on, project-based learning.
The PTO supports learner-facing enrichment, materials, service opportunities, and community projects. In practice that can mean purchasing classroom resources requested by guides, supporting the greenhouse and outdoor classroom, helping with events, and organizing volunteers.
We are not the school's fundraising department and we do not run the school. We are a separate charitable organization with our own board, our own governing documents, and our own obligations to the people who give to us.
Why we are a separate organization
The Anchored School PTO is a Texas nonprofit corporation, incorporated July 7, 2026, and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) public charity on July 13, 2026 under EIN 42-3747658. The Anchored School is a separate entity.
That separation is deliberate and it matters. It means a gift to the PTO is a charitable contribution that funds programs for children, and it is not a payment toward anyone's tuition. It means PTO money cannot be spent on school operating costs, payroll, rent, or facilities. And it means the equipment we buy — the greenhouse included — is owned by the PTO and stays with the learners.
Tuition and school fees are payments for services and are not tax-deductible. Gifts to the PTO are. We are careful about that line because families and donors deserve an accurate answer, not a convenient one.
Who we are
The PTO is governed by a volunteer board under written bylaws adopted July 10, 2026. Officers for the 2026–2027 term were elected on September 4, 2026. Nobody here is paid.
| Office | Name |
|---|---|
| President | Boshra Kargar |
| Vice President | Tishira Hills |
| Treasurer | Stephanie Dobson |
| Secretary | Deborah Painter |
The board meets monthly, keeps written minutes, and operates under conflict-of-interest and no-personal-benefit provisions. Financial transactions require dual approval, and event collections are counted by two people. More detail, and the documents themselves, are on our accountability page.
An amendment to our bylaws covering officer and governance provisions was drafted in September 2026 and is before the board. We will update this page when the board acts on it.
Who we serve
Every learner at The Anchored School benefits from what the PTO funds. Families take part in the way that fits their year: showing up to an event, giving an hour, sewing at a kitchen table, making an introduction to a local business, or simply telling us what their child needs. There is a place for every one of those.
The school we support
The Anchored School is a private Christian school in Prosper, Texas, serving learners from 6 weeks through 8th grade and families across Dallas–Fort Worth. Every family is welcome.
The school uses hands-on, project-based learning, an 8-to-1 learner-to-guide ratio, and readiness-based placement. The PTO remains a separate legal organization and supports approved learner-facing programs and resources.
