The parents behind The Anchored School.
We're the volunteer organization that funds and staffs the things that happen around the classroom — the greenhouse, the service projects, the materials, the celebrations. No paid staff. Just families who show up.
Our mission
The mission of The Anchored School Parent Teacher Organization is to glorify God by strengthening the partnership between parents, teachers, and families through service, encouragement, and stewardship. We support our educators and help cultivate a biblical-centered community where students grow in faith, character, and learning.
The Anchored School PTO is a Texas nonprofit corporation and a 501(c)(3) public charity, recognized by the IRS on July 13, 2026. We are a separate organization from the school we support. Every officer is a parent volunteer, and the PTO has no paid staff, which means the money raised here goes to programs and resources for children rather than to salaries or overhead.

Three ways we serve
Our mission names them, and they are how we organize everything we do.
Service
Hands and hours. Events, classroom support, projects, and the ordinary work of keeping a school community running well.
Encouragement
Standing behind our guides and our families. Appreciation, celebration, and the steady reminder that nobody is doing this alone.
Stewardship
Careful use of what we are given. Every dollar raised goes to programs and resources for learners, and we account for all of it.
Happening now
We're building a greenhouse.
Our learners asked for somewhere to grow their own food. So we're building it — a greenhouse where children plant, tend, observe, and learn what it takes to care for something living. It becomes an outdoor classroom for science, math, nutrition, and the patience that growing anything requires.
It is portable and owned by the PTO rather than built into the building, so it remains a PTO-owned resource. Read the full story of the project.

What we fund
The school handles its operating expenses; the PTO funds approved learner-facing programs and resources.
Learning materials
Books, microscopes, math manipulatives, art and music supplies, robotics kits — the things that make hands-on learning possible, requested by our guides and bought by the PTO.
Outdoor & active learning
The greenhouse and growing beds, sports and play equipment, and the outdoor spaces where children move, build, and discover.
Leadership & service
Safety Patrol, classroom leadership roles, the learner newspaper, and the community service projects our learners choose for themselves.
Our learners already know how to give
They packed meals at Feed My Starving Children. They collected food for Grace Bridge. They write and publish their own newspaper, the Anchored Times. When families were affected by the Camp Mystic tragedy, they ran a lemonade stand and gave away every dollar — their idea, their work.
Children who learn early that they can do something for someone else tend to keep doing it. Supporting that is some of the most important work this organization does, and it costs less than almost anything else we fund.
